About Jordan Mubako
I have always been captivated by the intricacies of complex systems. This fascination has driven my academic and professional pursuits as I strive to understand how various components interact within larger frameworks. Whether in nature, technology, or society, the dynamics of complex systems offer endless opportunities for exploration and innovation. My journey has led me to appreciate the transformative impact that well-designed systems can have on improving lives and driving progress. My knowledge journey began at Harvard, where I pursued courses in Chemistry and minored in Economics, allowing me to explore foundational principles of both fields. During my time there, I actively sought research opportunities across diverse topics, from biological markers to low-cost diagnostic technology. Each experience deepened my understanding of scientific inquiry and reinforced my belief that life sciences could be powerful catalysts for change.Building on my undergraduate experiences, I continued my education at the University of Cambridge, focusing on designing and developing low-cost diagnostic devices for PCR testing. I worked on portable tests for Malaria in low-resource contexts like the Philippines, as well as in general lab settings. However, I soon realized that scientific innovation must be complemented by practical business strategies to achieve real-world impact. This led me to seek the nexus of business and science, where I could leverage analytical skills to address pressing challenges.I have also come to appreciate the critical role of efficiency in both business and government. Through two years in the Transformation Delivery practice at Ernst & Young, I gained insights into optimizing processes and resources to develop innovative and sustainable solutions. My background in Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering, along with my research experience in healthcare and diagnostic technologies, has provided me with a strong knowledge base. I aim to build on this foundation by merging my scientific expertise with business acumen to drive meaningful change within the industry, having worked on various projects in the Energy/Utilities and healthcare sectors. As I navigate my career, I remain committed to exploring the intersections of science, business, and government. By fostering collaboration across these domains, we can unlock new possibilities and create impactful solutions that address complex challenges. One day, I will take these skills to my home country and work to build up complex systems. I strive to become a thought leader in my field.
