ABOUT JORDAN MOSKOFF

What I enjoy most about operations is the puzzle. As the Medical Director of one of the country\'s largest and busiest Emergency Departments, my work impacts all aspects of the organization. On everything from staffing models and clinical protocols to alcohol pad par levels, I work with multi-disciplinary teams to identify the pieces that need fixing. And then, I use data analysis to reshape them. Putting them back together in a way that saves time, reduces costs, and improves patient care and throughput, both within my department and the overall hospital system.In 2020, the puzzle became larger and more complex.When the world ran short on PPE, I urgently created an inventory, stocking, and distribution system where none existed before. Educating myself quickly on international supply chain management—I even found myself competing for isolation gowns with a US Navy aircraft carrier. And as time went on, with each new resurgence, staffing shortage, and supply chain disruption, I have adapted to design novel flow, staffing patterns, and inventory solutions to meet new realities. Learning and professionally developing more in the process of surmounting each crisis.It has been a challenge working on this puzzle and I am proud to say my team and I have been successful in delivering outstanding care no matter the obstacles. What I have enjoyed most is with every puzzle piece added I have learned something new and useful for meeting the next challenge.
