Accomplished Leader in International Peacebuilding and Multilateral CooperationWith over 30 years of experience, I have dedicated my career to advancing peacebuilding, human rights, and sustainable development.As a UN Assistant Secretary-General, I led the UNDP Bureau of Crisis Prevention and Recovery, overseeing global responses to natural and man-made disasters. At The Carter Center, I served as Vice President of Peace Programs, spearheading initiatives to promote democracy and human rights worldwide.A creative diplomat and consensus builder, I have championed human security and multilateral cooperation through leadership roles with the UN and The Carter Center. In retirement, I have continued to advance global peace through service on the Board of Directors for the Karuna Peacebuilding Institute, the Folke Bernadotte Academy, and as a founding member of Diplomats Without Borders.
