ABOUT JORDAN BUSTIN
I decided I wanted to work in marketing after watching the Patriots and the Giants in the Super Bowl (I remember because as a die-hard Cowboys fan, I wasn’t happy the Giants won) and saw a commercial with a financially savvy, talking baby. I wasn’t sure if it was a genius idea or a gimmick, but I was intrigued. Fast forward and marketing has evolved from the talking baby on prime-time TV to a more customer oriented, story-centric brand experience driven by data analytics. From my experience in advertising and strategic management along with the analytical rigor I’ve been grounded with at Chicago Booth, I’ve also evolved as the industry has evolved. I’m right brained. And left brained. A champion for the brand. The voice of the customer. A collaborative partner with an obsession with innovation and creativity. Someone who’s comfortable with ambiguity and data. A hybrid leader who has both storytelling and analytical capabilities. Someone who believes in progress over perfection. I hope that one day someone will interact with a brand experience I’ve helped create and be inspired to enter this industry, too. Because it’s the best job in the world.
