About Jordan Bishop
I am a project manager, ecologist, creative writer, and first-generation Ph.D. interested in applying environmental science and climate change research to broaden effective science communication and ensure that our natural world is well maintained. More locally, as a lifelong resident of coastal New England, I am passionate about aquatic ecology and wetland conservation. I aim to use my skills and expertise to combat habitat degradation and mitigate the environmental and social impacts of climate change in coastal communities. I have demonstrated success as a project manager, working cross-functionally for 6 years across the academic and governmental sectors. As an academic, I’ve led and coordinated (10+ members) research teams that have resulted in over 10 primary research publications presented as papers or conference presentations. Pursuing my Ph.D. in a foreign institution has built emotional intelligence while mentoring 2 students to successful degree completion. In the government sector, my affinity for grant management and time management ensures I coordinate staff to meet prompt deadlines of quarterly and semi-annual EPA reporting requirements. Further, my team works collaboratively across a variety of deliverables, such as quality assurance project plans, workplan development, website editing, database management, technical reports, comment letters, and symposia. My results-driven business acumen can be seen by securing competitive bids, outlining scopes of work and project plans, as well as budget and contract negotiating. This ensures I manage no less than 12+ contracts throughout the fiscal year.
