Practising as a therapist since 2011, my ongoing research aims to explore and develop strategic and therapeutic rehabilitation processes for children and adults recovering from developmental trauma and complex PTSD. Following on from my work in Africa I am also focusing on the needs of those who have been trafficked for the purpose of sexual exploitation or who are survivors of forced migration. Currently I am exploring;Utilising boundaried states of peril as a means of stimulating symbiotic neurogenisis - a practical set of tools to help nurture and re-intergrate the central and peripheral nervous system.Differential diagnosis of trauma states and trauma history.Differential diagnosis of states of abject abandonment, pre natal and early infancy trauma.In 2013 I completed PIT (Trauma) Training in Arizona with Sarah Bridge and Pia Mellody - creator of the model. In May/June I attended the 24th annual Boston Trauma Conference which had a special focus on the neuroscience of complex trauma in children. I also trained in ARC, with the model\'s originator; Dr Margaret Blaustein. ARC is specifically designed to help children and young people recover from trauma whilst being supported and treated in the context of their primary care giver, for example a parent/foster parent, or a social worker or prison officer. I again attended the Boston Trauma Conference and trainings in 2015 and 2017 and completed further CPD with Pia Mellody and Sarah Bridge in Arizona; Inner Child Work (2015) and Feelings Reduction Work (2016).As a part of my private practice, I undertake registered psychological supervision.
