As Financial Controller, I am one of the leaders from traditional finance operations in the digital transformation strategy of a multi-state RV dealership group. This project is a work-in-progress. In addition to managing core financial reporting, I’m helping to build the foundation for a company-wide modernization effort aimed at eliminating data silos, reducing manual toil, and empowering decision-makers with AI-driven insights.Key Responsibilities & Achievements- Recovered over $2M in outstanding receivables from prior years by implementing new controls and oversight for entity-level AR. That\'s cash back and income to the bottom line- Reduced bonus program processing time from over a month to just one week, significantly improving internal service and reducing errors. This made our salespeople very happy- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, ensuring clean and timely audits while improving internal reporting accuracy- Provide internal customer service for complex third-party bonus and incentive programs. This was a historic pain point that now runs more efficiently and transparently- Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, in-house developers, sales, service, and business operations teams to align financial data with operational realities- Focused on eliminating manual data entry without reducing staff, allowing teams to shift toward higher-value work like service, analysis, and compliance.Long-term goal: democratize financial and operational insights by integrating AI tools into everyday decision-making, improving speed, accuracy, and context across departments. My stretch goal is a company-wide modernization project to unify data entry and structure that will ultimately pave the way for a custom-built local LLM that can surface deep business insights through plain-English queries.
