The Crop Insurance industry is a unique and fascinating one, and I\'ve been lucky enough to have seen many changes & advancements in the field in the years I\'ve worked in the industry. After graduating high school, I began working at a small Crop Insurance company in the summer months doing data entry for Crop Hail insurance policies. After I graduated from college, I continued to work there part-time while also substitute teaching in several local school districts.After three years, I was hired on full-time as the Crop Hail Administrative Underwriter. In this position, I was responsible for the accurate and timely issuance of policies, and also helped the accounting department, assisted with contracts and licensing for our agents, and more. In September of 2008, I was promoted to Crop Hail Manager. In this role, I was responsible for decision-making regarding our Crop Hail and other private insurance products. I supervised the underwriting of these lines, was heavily involved in customer service between the Hail Department and our agents and was also responsible for working closely with our reinsurance company in regards to our private product filings. During this time, I also traveled the U.S. to present the Crop Hail portion of our Continuing Education courses to our agents.In May of 2011, I accepted the position of State Filings Analyst. I became responsible for filing all of the privately re-insured crop insurance products. Finally in August of 2014, I was promoted to Licensing and Filings Senior Analyst, which added the duties of acquiring & maintaining licenses for the Company and licensed employees within our company. I look forward to continuing to expand my knowledge and am always seeking ways to utilize my skills and creativity within the Crop Insurance industry.The content here is my own and does not represent the views or opinions of my employer.
