ABOUT JONI CARROLL

Through Edifice, I consult on the strategic planning, design and construction of institutional and residential projects, with a focus on the delivery of arts and culture infrastructure, as well as public engagement with architecture.In my role at Calgary Arts Development, I deliver spaces resources to the arts and culture sector, including online tools and reports that support citizens and impact municipal projects and policies.My experience includes the project management of new large capital design and construction projects at a New York Ivy League University. I also have extensive experience in the research, analysis, conservation, restoration and/or rehabilitation of historic structures in Toronto, San Francisco, New York, and Calgary.My volunteer board experience is usually focused on entities that support and celebrate architectural design in communities and / or gives me an opportunity to share my passion for facilities planning, design, construction and operations.My skills and aptitudes include:• Tirelessly champion for resources and programs that will benefit our community;• Successfully manage planning, design and construction of large capital projects from initial planning through completion and post-occupancy; • Skilled in working within a complex process framework with many stakeholders;• Passionate interest in design and the built environment• Familiarity with LEED and other ‘green’ initiatives; • Institutional, corporate and non-profit / volunteer leadership experience; • Experienced in assessing, researching and conserving existing buildings; • Excellent oral and written communication abilities; • Extrovert who enjoys being part of a teamSpecialties: Project ManagementArts FacilitiesNew ConstructionHistoric structures
