ABOUT JON G.

I’m a Senior Full-Stack & Platform Engineer who delivers value through clear architecture, reliable systems, and collaborative, team-first execution. Although my career has included leadership roles such as Development Manager, Director, and VP, I chose to return to a senior IC role because I’m an engineer at heart — most energized when I’m hands-on with code and solving problems alongside great teammates. My recent work spans full-stack engineering with Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, TypeScript/React, and Postgres, along with deeper platform and data-engineering initiatives. I’ve contributed to Postgres performance tuning, workflow orchestration with Camunda Zeebe, Elasticsearch integrations, Snowflake data pipelines, and I authored a published engineering blog post on using Snowflake effectively in Ruby applications. This breadth helps me support teams holistically — from schema design to API structure to frontend UX — and partner effectively across engineering, product, and operations.Collaboration and culture matter deeply to me. I work best in environments where engineers communicate openly, share context freely, support each other’s growth, and treat shipping well-crafted software as a collective effort. I enjoy mentoring, pairing, and helping create healthy engineering practices that make teams faster, safer, and more confident.Outside of work, I stay curious and hands-on: running a personal Kubernetes cluster configured with Ansible, experimenting with iOS development in Swift/SwiftUI, and exploring new approaches to Rails development with tools like Claude and Cursor.
