Experience in supporting technology and knowledge based start-up companies including University spin-outs. I have worked closely with hundreds of start-up companies (including but not limited to student and graduate start-ups) providing advice, guidance and in some cases acting as a Non-Exec Director. Support varies from market research, analysis, business planning, governance structures and financial planning. Twenty years experience as a company Director. Also Director of Lancaster and Morecambe Chamber of Commerce, and member of the board of Lancaster and Morecambe College. I undertake private consultancy work to start-ups, SMEs, awarding bodies, and organisation in FE/HE with regard to enterprise education and knowledge exchange. Also- Alumni of the 2011/12 International Enterprise Educators Programme (IEEP)- Assessor for the Association of Business Schools Charter Status Award since 2014- Judge for the Lancashire BIBA business awards in 2014- Director and/or project manager for several ERDF projects including U Start, the Northwest HE Enterprise Champion project, Unite With Business project and Lancaster Business Creation project.
