ABOUT JONATHON T.

I am a dynamic, highly innovative senior manager with 25 years experience in the public sector. I have specialist knowledge in violence reduction and have recently led on the development of the Warwickshire Violence Prevention Strategy on behalf of all the Specified Authorities.I have worked for 4 London boroughs at Director to equivalent level, leading transformational change programmes. I was Head of Community Safety in Southwark for 10 years with responsibility for strategic commissioning and community safety services. I was also chair of the London Heads of Community Safety Group.I am passionate about working with young people, families and communities to make a positve difference in their lives.I have specialist knowledge in tackling violent crime. I have developed a number of programmes to prevent gang violence and support individuals and families away from gang affected lifestyle. I worked with the Home Office in 2011, advising on programmes to address the causes of violence. I worked in a team drafting the “Ending Gang and Youth Violence Report” 2011. I was a member of the governments national Ending Gang and Youth Violence Team, In April 2009 I published a practitioners report on the causes of gang violence, “To Die Another Day”. Recently I finished a book \"Silent Voices\" which gives a unique insight into gang violence in local communitiesSpecialties: community safety, public protection, civil protection strategic leadership developing effective partnerships, community and voluntary agencies. Established multi agency intervention programmes, supporting people to make a positive change. Specific knowledge of fire safety having been involved in the operational and strategic response for the Lakanal and the local authority response to the Grenfell fire.
