About Jonathan Zhang

Updated as of 2022) Future physician and lifelong learner. I am a second-year Biology student in the BS/MD program at Seton Hall with dreams of attending medical school. My intellectual curiosity and passion have driven me to conduct research at the Institute of NeuroImmune Pharmacology (INIP). My experience at INIP has provided me with the opportunity to present my research at multiple conferences and develop a manuscript for publication. My research varies from HIV transgenic rats to binge ethanol spleen atrophy to cold plasma but my main research focus is on COVID-19 and Parkinson\'s disease. Working with patients as a scribe has not only instilled in me a sense of altruism but has fueled my passion as a researcher to advance the field of medicine. I developed an interest in exploring healthcare outside of the US after seeing the healthcare system in the US first hand. I plan to study abroad and am interested in learning more about the business behind healthcare.I enjoy connecting with others and bringing people together. I serve as the vice president of the Pre-med Connect club building a community of Seton Hall pre-meds to achieve their dreams of attending medical school and becoming physicians.
