Jonathan Ware is Managing Director & Associate General Counsel in the Delta Air Lines Law Department, where he leads Delta’s Commercial Transactions and Privacy Teams and oversees Delta’s global patent and trademark portfolio. In addition to supporting billions of dollars of commercial contracting each year, Jonathan and his team have collaborated closely with their business partners to achieve a number of industry firsts, such as designing and launching the first curb-to-gate biometric boarding experience in the US, licensing technology for billion-dollar fleets of computer-enabled aircraft, driving operational efficiency by deploying cutting-edge predictive maintenance technologies, implementing enhanced threat-detection capabilities to expedite customer clearance through airport security, and patenting innovations that better enable vehicles to operate autonomously on the airport tarmac.
