About Jonathan Anderson

Internet content delivery architect and CDN-based security solution expert. My career began as a Web application developer in 2001, and that experience led me to my current role in Global Services at Akamai.My goal is simple: I help my customers go big, go fast, and stay secure. Whether it be their public facing Web sites, mission critical Web apps, high definition video streams, Internet or cloud hosting environments, I help my customers scale to television sized audiences and protect them from tsunami sized attacks.Specialties: CDN-based security solutions such as Bot detection and mitigation, DDoS protection, and Web Application Firewalls. Significant understanding of foundational Internet technologies and how they can and cannot scale, including DNS, DNSSEC, IPv4, IPv6, UDP, TCP, HTTP, and SSL/TLS. Exposure to and experience with every type of Internet hosting architecture and technology stack in use today, including all major cloud hosting providers. Significant experience defending and protecting against distributed denial-of-service attacks that have exceeded single hostname traffic volumes of 600 Gbps.
