About Jonathan Barra

For as long as I can remember, I have loved the process of creating things, and working as part of team. In my professional life, however, I rarely leveraged these strengths and interests. It wasn’t until I learned about how coding boot camps were disrupting the traditional educational model in IT that I realized I needed to make a definitive career switch.In software development I saw how my logical thinking and interpersonal skills could be put to use in a career more suited to my curiosity and creativity. I love what I am doing now and feel a buzz when I master a new concept or see how different technologies fit together. Since joining Progressive Insurance as a software developer, I have been welcomed, supported and challenged by my colleagues, and I come to work everyday excited to learn and find ways to contribute to my team\'s successes.
