About Jonathan Klein

I believe the most important and necessarily creative work of our lives is and must be ahead of us.Over the last twenty years, I’ve built a powerful network of families, educators, and other leaders working for educational equity and innovation, grounded in California communities and extending to elected officials, philanthropists, and other hands-on innovators in cities and states throughout the nation. I have experience teaching and working within a large urban school district, and have advised superintendents, school board members, principals, teachers, and education entrepreneurs across the country.To date, my career path has been motivated around addressing the moral imperative of educational inequality and opportunity gaps within our country\'s public schools. I\'m still passionate about and deeply engaged in that work, and I’m increasingly compelled by the existential imperative of the climate crisis.I love working with teams of leaders to think big about how we engage diverse stakeholders and marshall resources to tackle our communities\' most pressing social challenges. I\'ve led campaigns to change policy, elect leaders, and generate hundreds of millions of dollars in new resources for children and educators.I\'m a political animal, a joyful teammate, and build relationships that make those around me better. I\'m a dad, husband, brother, son, and friend. I\'m a voter, citizen, and advocate. I\'m an entrepreneur and executive. I believe that a good life is lived in community and in service.I aspire to work on hard problems with creative, passionate people.
