About Jonathan Flores

I am a dedicated first-generation Mexican American student at CUNY Baruch College, currently pursuing a double major in Economics and Mathematics and a minor in History. Throughout my academic journey, I’ve always had a passion for helping others, whether through tutoring students in Math and Economics or mentoring fellow peers to achieve their goals. That same passion drives how I approach leadership and collaboration.In my current role as a tutor at Baruch, I work with students across subjects ranging from Algebra to Calculus II and from Introductory to Intermediate Economics. I focus on breaking down complex concepts into clear, approachable steps while fostering confidence and problem-solving skills. Tutoring has not only strengthened my communication and teaching abilities, but it has also reinforced my own academic foundation and commitment to helping others succeed.As a peer mentor, I’ve guided 12+ students academically and personally, supporting their growth inside and outside the classroom. These experiences have strengthened my ability to explain complex ideas, lead with empathy, and create meaningful connections.I’m also actively involved with ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals for America), where I’ve expanded my professional network, attended events with industry leaders, and encouraged fellow students to engage with career development opportunities. My involvement with ALPFA has given me valuable exposure to the finance world while also allowing me to support my peers in their own professional journeys.My goal is to continue pursuing opportunities in the finance industry where I can apply my quantitative analysis skills while contributing to a supportive and collaborative team environment.
