SKILLS
ABOUT JONATHAN DURSI
I build and lead technical teams working on hard R&D problems at the intersection of AI, life sciences, and advanced computing infrastructure.Over 20 years, I\'ve moved between academia, industry, and public sector, leading efforts that required bridging technical depth with stakeholder management, strategic planning, and team building. I\'ve assembled and directed distributed national teams, coordinated technical work across 150+ FTEs, and built sustained relationships with research organizations, universities, and government departments. At NVIDIA, I lead strategic technical engagements with national-scale R&D customers, supporting $300M+ in infrastructure procurements and building multi-year trusted advisor relationships. Previously, I built and led CanDIG - a federated platform for national-scale genomic and health data analysis - growing it from concept to foundation of Canada\'s $300M+ Marathon of Hope Cancer Care Network. The project became a driver for international standards development and led to advisory roles on genomic data management frameworks in Canada and Australia.Earlier, as interim CTO of Compute Canada, I coordinated technical operations across the country, led strategic planning for the reconstituted national organization, and restructured operations to reduce silos. At SciNet and OICR, I developed novel methods in cancer genomics and created training programs that became Canada\'s largest advanced research computing education effort.I\'m most energized by work that requires deep technical understanding, building and mentoring teams, and navigating complex stakeholder environments where research, infrastructure, and real-world impact intersect.
