ABOUT JONATHAN BLUM

I am a freshman studying finance at IU’s Kelley School of Business. I am passionate about combining analytics and creativity in business. In high school, I established a DECA chapter at my school, where I facilitated workshops on business, finance, and marketing, advanced in national competitions, and secured 50+ applications for the 2024-25 school year. While managing the chapter, I developed skills in time management, communication, and initiative. Subsequently, I competed on my school’s varsity tennis team and was named most valuable player during my sophomore season, learning skills such as consistency, pressure management, and discipline. My high school experiences inspired me to pursue a career in finance and deepen my knowledge. Currently, I strengthen my skills through Kelley’s diverse classes and extracurricular activities, including the Summit Impact Trust and an ESG-focused fund that manages over in capital, where I serve as an investment analyst. At the summit, I develop stock pitches for undervalued ESG-focused companies, developing skills in equity analysis and public speaking. I am also part of IU Chabad’s Freshman Board, where I help organize events, and I play tennis and pickleball in my free time.In the future, I plan to leverage my business skills to solve complex problems through data analysis, creating smarter, data-driven designs. I aim to pursue my passion for this field, which drives my curiosity and enhances my talents working toward a career in corporate finance or consulting.
