About Jonathan Rocha Bonanno
Leadership complexity doesn’t break organizations, but misaligned structure does.I work with founders and senior leaders when growth, pressure, or internal friction begins to outpace the systems meant to hold it. That inflection point shows up quickly: first-time managers overwhelmed, roles blurring, feedback avoided, accountability bottlenecking at the top. The team isn’t failing. The architecture underneath them is.I’m a founder, Managing Partner of ZIA, and industrial/organizational psychologist. For more than a decade, I’ve built companies and worked inside scaling organizations as they expand, stall, reset, and sometimes require structural redesign from the inside out.I’m known for staying steady in complexity, naming what others avoid, and helping leaders design operating models that can actually hold the responsibility they’re asking people to carry. At ZIA, we partner with organizations under real pressure. Our work begins with diagnostic clarity. We assess where responsibility, authority, and capacity are misaligned, then redesign structure, leadership rhythms, and talent systems to reduce burnout and increase execution. When appropriate, we integrate virtual and hybrid talent models to expand capacity without destabilizing culture.I also host The Chief Psycho Podcast, where I engage founders and executives in long-form conversations about leadership, identity, power, and the systems they operate within. It’s not commentary alone, it’s applied inquiry. Many of the frameworks that shape my advisory work are sharpened there first. My approach integrates psychodynamic thinking, industrial/organizational psychology, and practical execution that survives contact with reality.I believe leadership is a load-bearing function, not a performance. Clarity requires structure, accountability requires containment, and sustainable growth requires systems that can outlast personality.I help leaders tell the truth about their organizations, align action with values, and build structures that endure.
