ABOUT JON BENNETT

I am a Chartered Surveyor (Fellow of the RICS) and a Chartered Construction Manager with 30 years experience in property development and wish to continue in an acquisitions/development/asset management role at a senior, director or strategic level.Extensive experience in both client-side private practice and local government.I ensure that schemes are delivered on time and within budget. I do this by ensuring I have a good team of people around me, that we are all aligned to a common goal and making sure everyone is aware of their responsibilities whilst acknowledging that, as project lead, I am ultimately accountable for the success of failure of each project. Currently Deputy Director at His Majesty\'s Courts and Tribunal Services (a joint agency of the Ministry of Justice and the judiciary). As Deputy Director of Asset Management, I lead the strategic direction and delivery of HMCTS’s national property portfolio, ensuring alignment with government priorities and service targets. I provide expert guidance on asset management, champion data-led decision-making, and drive continuous improvement across the estate.I collaborate closely with internal directorates, the Ministry of Justice, and other government departments to ensure our estate strategy supports wider public sector goals. My role includes overseeing property intelligence, lease and tenure management, and financial reporting mechanisms that align with MoJ and IFRS 16 standards.I’m committed to fostering a culture of inclusion, wellbeing, and accountability, and I actively engage with colleagues at all levels to build trust, clarity, and shared purpose around estate decisions.
