ABOUT JONATHAN ACAMPORA

I am a nonprofit and communications professional transitioning into research focused on how community-based organizations measure and scale their social impact. With an M.S. in Nonprofit Management & Social Innovation from Northeastern University, I’ve spent the past decade leading outreach, digital strategy, and capacity-building initiatives for mission-driven organizations. My professional experience—ranging from the Sierra Club’s Beyond Coal campaign to local LGBTQ+ advocacy—has given me firsthand insight into how nonprofits drive change and the data gaps that limit their impact measurement.I’m now preparing to apply for PhD programs in Nonprofit and Social Impact Research (12–18 months) while completing data analytics and research-methods coursework to strengthen my quantitative foundation. My research interests include:• Evaluation frameworks for community impact and harm-reduction initiatives• Data-driven nonprofit management and systems thinking• Ethical and participatory approaches to measuring social changeMy goal is to bridge practice and research—helping organizations use evidence to improve outcomes and advance equity.
