Upper Manhattan Mental Health is an Article 31 outpatient therapy treatment center and a part of the Emma Bowen Community Center. The Center is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to enable individuals and families, regardless of age of effectively and productively meet the many challenges defined as \"problems of living\" by providing comprehensive community services in a caning environment.\\\\n\\\\nThrough comprehensive services, the Emma Bowen Community Center strives to raise the functionality of community members, reducing barriers to growth, and improving all facets of daily living. Services include outpatient mental health and health clinics for adults and children, telehealth services, therapeutic preschool, elderly care, addiction treatment, care management, a food pantry and housing services.\\\\n\\\\nAs a Licensed Master of Social Worker Therapist I treat client\'s mental health, with oversight from a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I assess patients\' biological, social and psychological functioning, diagnose mental health disorders, develop comprehensive treatment plans to achieve goals developed in collaboration with clients, and provide psychotherapy. As an Article 31 Clinic, we tend to treat patients with complex, severe, chronic conditions. They often face intersecting forces of oppression that present a myriad of challenges to normal functioning. I have a special love for working with members of the queer community and people who are in their golden years.\\\\n\\\\nI continue to take as many opportunities to deepen my clinical knowledge and skills. Based in a humanistic approach, I believe that all people are unique and require tailored interventions. I use a variety of modalities in my work, including mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Prolonged Grief Disorder Therapy. I have a growing interest in trauma treatment and use somatic and experiential approaches, including Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy.\\\\n \\\\n\\\\n \\\\n \\\\n\\\\n \\\\n
