About Jonathan Ziss

Jonathan S. Ziss is a partner in Goldberg Segalla’s Philadelphia office. He chairs the firm’s Management & Professional Liability Practice Group, chairs the firm’s Aviation Litigation Practice Group, and is a member of its Commercial Litigation and Cyber Risk and Privacy Practice Groups. His practice is national in scope. Jonathan devotes much of his practice to the representation of professionals, including accountants, attorneys, design professionals, insurance agents/brokers, and fiduciaries, in administrative and civil proceedings. He also represents a variety of non-profit entities, and he litigates, arbitrates, and mediates commercial disputes in diverse industries, from healthcare to hospitality. In the field of aviation liability litigation, Jonathan represents airlines, under wing service providers, municipal authorities, general aviation pilots, flight schools, and fixed base operators. He also counsels and represents insurance carriers on matters involving coverage.Jonathan is past President of the Professional Liability Defense Federation and a past Co-Chair of the CLM’s Professional Liability Committee. In addition, he is a past Chapter Chair of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) Mid-Atlantic Steering Committee. Jonathan is a frequent author and lecturer on the subject of fiduciary responsibility, professional standards, and management & professional liability risk. He has been quoted in Forbes.com, Dow Jones News Service, Law 360, The Legal Intelligencer, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Philly.com, and Reuters, among others.Jonathan was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and he was a staff member of The Villanova Law Review.
