About Jonathan Zakin
Jon Zakin has been active in the technology industry for 30 years as both an operating executive and investor- Served as EVP and member of the Board of Directors of US Robotics (USR) and was instrumental in the Company\'s growth from approximately $18M in revenue to over $2B at the time of its sale to 3Com- Responsible for acquiring Palm Computing and worked with management to develop the strategy that allowed Palm to revolutionize the PDA market- After the USR sale, became an industrial partner of Ripplewood Holdings, a NY LBO fund, and eventually acquired Western Multiplex where he was CEO and Chairman of the Board. Grew sales by 400% over 5 years through organic growth and acquisitions and exited with Ripplewood generating an IRR of over 40%- Was first angel investor in Cleversafe (cloud based storage) and upon closing their first institutional financing round became its interim CEO. Cleversafe was ultimately sold to IBM for approximately $1.2B- Other experience includes: social media marketing (RB Media), SaaS ERP software (Masterstream), as well as consulting, executive coaching, M&A, fundraising and strategic planning and positioning- Partner in Techxploit, a technology acquisition group- Founded Zakin Wines, producer of the Zakin Family Estate Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay wines in Napa Valley.
