As a Community Futures Development Corporation (CFDC), we finance new businesses and expansions, provide business services and referrals and fund economic development projects in the Thunder Bay Census Metropolitan Area (CMA).With 37 Community Futures Development Corporations in rural southern Ontario and 24 in Northern Ontario, CFDC\'s are well positioned to offer local solutions to local needs.Thunder Bay Ventures supports a variety of ongoing community projects, including the Handmade Map, supporting arts and cultural events, and the Small Business Survey. The Small Business Survey has historically been an accurate barometer of the attitudes and opinions of small business owners in Thunder Bay, while the Handmade Map offers a tour of local artists\' studios and gallery spaces. Thunder Bay Ventures also provides strategic planning to groups and organizations in our census metropolitan area to assist in improving local businesses\' effectiveness.
