I am a US patent attorney and attorney-at-law with extensive experience in defining, managing, and enforcing intellectual property rights. I have practiced before the US Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office.During my career I have:• drafted and prosecuted patent applications for a wide range of technologies;• managed global patent portfolios;• prepared and argued European oppositions and appeals;• mined patent portfolios to identify candidates for licensing and assertion;• advised on licensing, sales, professional-services, and joint-development agreements;• enforced patents through litigation;• worked with engineers to document evidence of infringement;• performed M&A due diligence; • supported licensing activities; • provided counseling for all types of IP assets; • advised on open-source licensing and compliance;• educated executives, managers, and engineers about IP issues; • developed tools to analyze and maximize patent-portfolio value;• rewired internal processes to reduce friction and manage risk; and• succeeded in maximizing the value of IP rights in many other ways.Additionally, while living in three countries I have successfully worked with people from around the globe.

I also negotiate IP terms with some of the world\'s largest companies and handle open-source licensing and compliance issues. I find broken processes and make them better.
