I lead the Council’s property, development and asset management functions. This includes developing and continuously reviewing the organisations relevant strategies and approach in this area in response to legislative and regulatory changes and evolving technical best practice.I act as the professional property advisor for the Council having oversight of all corporate and housing property related matters ensuring all property related legal and other responsibilities are met and that all homes and buildings comply with relevant health and safety/building safety requirements.I actively promote a climate of continued improvement and good governance. I allocate and manage resources within my service areas ensuring adequate strategic long-term investment in our assets and homes to meet the requirements of the Corporate Plan.I effectively contract, manage contractors, consultants and key partners who deliver planned reactive day to day and specialist property related services ensuring effective delivery, value for money and high levels of customer services.Finally, I lead, motivate and manage the Development, Property and Asset Management Teams to ensure the achievement of all strategic objectives.
