ABOUT JONATHAN STALOFF
I’m a family physician, health systems researcher, and population health medical director focused on strengthening primary care as the foundation of high-performing health systems. My work centers on how primary care investment, telehealth, and value-based payment models can drive better outcomes at scale. At the University of Washington, I practice at Harborview Family Medicine Clinic and serve as Medical Director of Population Health Value Management at UW Medicine, supporting enterprise-wide value-based care strategy. My research examines primary care spending, telehealth delivery, and how primary care functions as essential infrastructure for system transformation.I engage in state and national primary care policy, including co-chairing the Washington State Advisory Committee on Primary Care and serving as a 2025–2027 James C. Puffer/ABFM Fellow at the National Academy of Medicine.I’m also the co-author of \'Reshaping Health Systems: What Drives Health Care and How You Can Change It\', a foundational book written to help clinicians understand how health systems and policy shape care—and how they can lead change.
