ABOUT JONATHAN SHAPIRO ANJARIA

I am a researcher, educator and graduate career professional. As a researcher- I am passionate about using ethnography and qualitative research to promote sustainable and equitable transportation. I\'ve researched and written about people use and move around Mumbai\'s streets since 2004. As an educator— I\'ve taught hundreds of undergraduate and graduate students about the tools of Anthropology and how to do qualitative research that makes an impact. As a graduate career professional — I am committed to ensuring that graduate students have multiple career options after graduation. As faculty director of professional development at the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences at Brandeis, I mentor graduate students on career exploration inside and outside the academy, organize career-related seminars, amplify the work of people with humanities and humanistic social science PhDs in industry and collaborate with like-minded faculty interested in higher education reform.
