ABOUT JONATHAN SEARLE

Senior corporate finance professional with an accounting and finance background with 20+ years’ M&A experience in the Investment Banking and Corporate environment. Strong record of initiating, motivating, and executing a range of value enhancing transactions across industries including healthcare, mining, financial services, technology, telecoms, hotels/gaming, FMCG, packaging and beverages sectors. UK based working across Europe, Africa and Asia. During my time working in an Investment Banking (JPMorgan) and in-house FTSE 10 (SABMiller plc) Corporate Finance environment, I have gained significant M&A experience in public and private sectors in an international and emerging markets context: Identification, evaluation and execution of opportunities across geographies and industries focused on strategic and commercial fit, financial returns, and risk profile. The last transaction I advised on SABMiller was its US$104bn acquistion by AB InBev, the largest ever take-over of a UK listed company. I have had the benefit of gaining broad experience across a number of geographies (Africa, Europe, China, SE Asia) and sectors including healthcare, financial services, technology, telecoms, hospitality and FMCG. I have had the privilege of building and leading multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams and establishing ongoing relationships with partners and future prospects. A unique skill has been the Identification and execution of Corporate Finance solutions to strategic issues facing Corporates including portfolio composition, license to trade, drivers of superior top and bottom line growth. Most recently I have gained experience in the interim M&A consulting market as I was engaged by SIG Combibiloc, a leading global player in the asceptic carton packaging sector, headquartered in Switzerland. During the course of the my assignment, I worked alongside the Executive management team and external advisers in delivering the successful IPO of SIG in September 2018. I have subsequently led a number of M&A initiatives including disposals of a non-core asset in New Zealand, acquisitions in the Middle East, Australia and China and the recent transformational acquisition of Scholle-IPN,(EV Euro 1.3bn) I am passionate about continuing to use my experience and skills either in an interim or permanent senior M&A/Corporate development capacity.
