I am a committed sustainability professional with over 15 years’ experience in sustainable sourcing and procurement, ethical trade and sustainability more generally. I have worked with international brands, suppliers, factories, licencing partners and other stakeholders during my career and I have helped many organisations protect and build their brands by trading ethically and sustainably. I have seen and contributed to the evolution of the sustainable sourcing agenda and it is particularly pleasing to have seen the subject moving from being seen as something niche; the domain of a limited number of specialists, to being treated as the holistic organisational challenge and opportunity that it is. It is now clear that the organisations today that have a clear focus on sustainability will deliver better outcomes for stakeholders, communities and employees. What was once seen as a side-show has become the main event.
