About Jonathan Sanchez-Hidalgo

I am currently the Director of Evangelization and Discipleship at St. Charles Borromeo in Omaha Nebraska. Previously I was a FOCUS Missionary for 5 years and in between I worked a couple of secular sales jobs. I have a passion for reaching people and bringing them to know the Lord. I enjoy looking at big picture goals and then creating a structure that supports those goals, but also simplifies ways of attaining each facet that goes into accomplishing those goals. Some highlights of things I am currently doing- Implementing a Clear Path: The Clear Path at our Parish, where we focus on building opportunities for people in various phases of their faith journey to integrate into the parish and grow as disciples of Christ. This involves developing, planning, and organizing things such as Potlucks, the Parish Retreat, Small Groups, and Leadership Training- Discipleship: I have provided a structure and process for Discipleship using the model that Jesus provided that FOCUS as well as the Archdiocese of Omaha have also integrated. Building personal relationships, having a heart for prayer, and a heart for reaching others are at its core- Media: I am in charge of the Parish Website and Social Media. I also do all of the videography and video editing as well as transforming content into podcast form. I have done hundreds of videos including videos that serve as advertisements for parish ministries, recording and editing homilies, Catechesis for Family Faith Formation, and even producing, recording, and editing a morning show which aired during the pandemic and continued for months afterwards!

   Work with Pastor and the Pastoral Council in promoting the pastoral and strategic vision of the Parish-Work closely with the Director of Religious Formation in designing and promoting a total family faith formation experience -Work with the Confirmation Coordinator to build and maintain a connection between the Parish\'s Junior High Confirmation Program and the High School Youth Ministry Program-Organize, initiate, and/or assist with adult catechesis and formation (e.g, Bible Studies, small groups, adult education, parent/adult sacramental preparation, etc.)- Envision and implement adult evangelization and discipleship initiatives- Baptism Preparation - Create a program that both catechizes and evangelizes- Marriage Preparation - Create a program using Marriage mentors to assist the Pastor in the preparation of marriage- Parish Outreach -Build relationships with various Parish apostolates and assist in equipping them to be stronger disciples of Jesus-Assist in maintaining and updating the Parish website and other social media outlets-Create a Clear Path of Discipleship where we foster Relational Outreach, bring people to a decision point through a Conversion Engine, help them grow in their established faith through Transformational Small Groups, all while integrating parish leaders into a mindset that brings parishioners through each step through discipleship/mentoring.
