ABOUT JONATHAN ROOS

I am an eyelid specialist plastic surgeon in London\'s Harley Street, Mayfair, Jersey and Cambridge, focusing on facial aesthetics, eyelid surgery, periocular cancer and dry/watery eyes.(MA MB BChir PhD FRCOphth FEBO). I am passionate about my job which is looking after people and reducing skin cancer in Jersey in particular. Trained at Cambridge University (double first) as well as Harvard & Moorfields Eye Hospital. Fellow of both the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the European Board of Ophthalmology (ranked in top 2 on the board exam)- Featured in Hello Magazine, Tatler, Independent, Daily Mail, Spears500 and other national newspapers and trade journals- Winner Top Aesthetic Doctor UK at the December 2024 International Safety in Beauty Awards and commended for surgical results at 2023 Aesthetics Awards- Licensed and on the specialist register in Switzerland, Sweden, Jersey and the UK (and prev. Uganda)- Elected member of the American, European and British Societies of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS, ESOPRS, BOPSS)- Cambridge MD/PhD programme graduate with Harvard Medical School research fellowship. My academic work has been recognised by multiple national and international awards such as BOPSS, ASH, ANA, Cambridge, ESOPRS, ITEDS etc. For example In 2019 I won a global meeting prize in Singapore as well as the best British academic paper in oculoplastic surgery and was commended 2023 for best surgical result- Appointed Chief Resident in Ophthalmology on the Cambridge University Health Partners/Judge Business School mini-MBA programme and also sat on the Royal College of Ophthalmologists training Committee- Commercially patented an antimicrobial skin cleanser, started two companies and advised an OECD government on orphan drug pricing. Published in the world\'s top medical journals such as the Lancet, BMJ and NEJM and invited to lecture as External Professor for the University of Milano and Mario Negri Institute Pharmaceutical Masters Programme- Contributor to multiple oculo-plastics textbooks- Previously facial plastics and orbital surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital where I enjoyed running busy operating lists and clinics as well as teaching the residents- I continue to teach principles of safe aesthetics and cosmetic surgery: Have swum with sperm whales and sailed across the Atlantic with my wife.
