Member of trial teams in successful jury trials in two SEC enforcement actions concerning front-running and insider trading. Examined key witnesses and delivered closing arguments in both trials. • Served as Special Assistant United States Attorney in United States v. Bravata (E.D. Mich. 2013), resulting in convictions following two month jury trial. Delivered opening statement and examined key witnesses. • Member of trial team that prevailed in administrative proceeding regarding investment adviser malfeasance. Cross-examined respondents and other key witnesses. • Lead trial counsel in national priority SEC enforcement prosecutions of offering fraud, residential mortgage-backed securities matters, accounting fraud, insider trading, market manipulation, boiler room scams, penny stock “pump-and-dump” schemes, registration violations, and investment advisory and broker-dealer misconduct. • Collaborate with Offices of the United States Attorneys, Department of Justice’s Fraud Section, FBI, IRS and other federal agencies in investigations and prosecutions; collaborate with international law enforcement agencies in conjunction with investigation and prosecution of international insider trading ring, multinational boiler room operation, and secreting of ill-gotten gains to offshore banking havens. • Developed and spearhead Enforcement Division’s nationwide offensive digital forensics and eDiscovery training program; developed and offered nationwide, Division-wide training concerning certain emerging strategies employed by defendants and respondents.• Train foreign securities regulators in programs sponsored by SEC’s Office of International Affairs, promoting best practices for investigating and prosecuting securities laws violations.• Trainer in trial advocacy program for members of trial unit.• Recipient of awards for performance excellence throughout tenure; nominated for SEC’s Stanley Sporkin Award by Chicago Regional Office.
