ABOUT JONATHAN MCGARRY

I am the Quantity Surveying Manager for MJM Group Ltd managing a team of quantity surveyors within a growing sector. I am currently representing MJM on several projects across the world from works here in the UK and Ireland to projects in Europe, Asia and the America\'s. Previously I was employed by Patton for 9 1/2 years before being made redundant as a result of the company going into voluntary administration. I had joined Patton as a placement year student from University then employed on a part time basis in between studies in final year before returning to work with Patton Full time after achieving my Degree. Since then I had been employed as a QS in the Patton Fit-out division, specialising in interior fit-outs of shops, hotels, restaurants and leisure facilities. In 2009 I was then asked to take part in the Heritage division specialising in the design and delivery of exhibition fit-outs of museums. I had taken part on some prestigious projects (Titanic Belfast (20••••12), Liverpool Museum (Largest new build museum in the UK for over 100 years).(20••••12), National Football Museum Manchester (20••••12), Malahide castle & Gardens (2012)) Working on these projects has provided me with a great understanding on not just standard fit-out trades but also a cost understanding of very specialist trades. As like anyone and as time moves on we continue to develop our skills and thus a greater understanding of our industry and in my case a bespoke industry. When Patton went into Administration in November 2012 I began seeking alternative employment and in January 2013 I was employed with MJM Group as one of their Quantity Surveyors specialising in Marine Work and Bespoke Joinery. In May 2013 I was promoted to Senior Quantity Surveyor and in October 2017, I was promoted to Quantity Surveying Manager with MJM.
