As General Manager for the Head and Neck Clinical Service Unit (CSU) at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, I lead the operational and strategic delivery of four complex paediatric and adult specialties: Ophthalmology, ENT, Audiology, and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. These initiatives integrate digital innovation, clinical redesign, and data-driven decision-making to improve access, patient experience, and long-term sustainability.With full budgetary accountability, I manage multi-million-pound resources, balancing financial discipline with investment in improvement, innovation, and workforce resilience. I apply Lean principles, analytics, and evidence-based methods to identify efficiency opportunities and mitigate operational and clinical risk.My leadership style is grounded in collaboration, clarity, and accountability. I build high-performing teams, foster psychological safety, and develop future leaders. I’m an NHS General Manager with a background in operational leadership, service redesign, and strategic delivery across complex clinical environments. I currently lead the Head & Neck CSU at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, covering Ophthalmology, ENT, Audiology, and Maxillofacial Surgery. My focus is on improving quality, efficiency, and sustainability through clear strategy, disciplined execution, and collaborative leadership.I enjoy building high-performing teams and creating the conditions for people to do their best work. I’m most at ease working on complex problems—where the solution requires both data and judgement—and where operational grip and long-term thinking have to coexist.Outside of work, I’m interested in strength / fitness training, sports, and mountaineering. I’m a 3D printing enthusiast with a growing interest in design and manufacturing technologies. I also follow economics, markets, and investment trends—mainly for the same reason I like operations: systems, patterns, and cause-and-effect.
