About Jonathan Koltai

I have 10+ years of experience using quantitative research methods to guide decision making across interdisciplinary teams in the social & health sciences and in big tech settings. Much of this research has focused on the worker experience–e.g. perceptions of job demands and enablers, well-being, and business outcomes. I also have technical expertise in longitudinal data analysis, mediation modeling, and causal inference with non-experimental data.A full list of my peer-reviewed publications can be found here: SQL | R | Stata | SPSS | Excel | Business Writing | Exploratory Data Analysis | Linear Regression | Logistic Regression | Longitudinal Data Analysis | Difference-in-Difference Models | Quasi-Experiments and Causal Inference

Principal researcher and statistician on the Talent Analytics team at Netflix. Talent analytics enables data-informed decisions related to people (ICs, people managers, and candidates) at many levels across the company. In this role I communicate with senior leaders and key stakeholders to understand their needs and connect these needs to research questions and testable hypotheses. After doing so I use several analytic tools (e.g. SQL, R) to extract and join appropriate data tables, conduct analyses, and create reports and presentations that are useful for both technical and nontechnical business partners. I own several ongoing projects related to employee attrition and promotion, adverse impact and equity, and program evaluation. I also lead reporting and analysis for the company-wide employee sentiment survey. This involves both question development and survey design, summarizing key results and trends for leaders bi-annually, and deep dive analyses that connect employee sentiments to business outcomes.
