About Jonathan Jarvis
I am an associate professor in the Department of Sociology. My research focuses on (1) educational strategies and achievement in East-Asian nations,(2) families in East Asia, and (3) educational achievement and parental practices among immigrants from East Asia. I am currently examining perceptions of failure and success in South Korea’s intense educational system, as well as child behavior problems and social capital in Japan, South Korea, and China.
