ABOUT JONATHAN HUTT

I\'m a partner in the construction and engineering group at international law firm Taylor Wessing. With over 350 partners and 1,100 lawyers in 19 jurisdictions around the world, Taylor Wessing works closely with clients in the most dynamic industries helping them succeed by thinking innovatively about their business issues. I have specialised in disputes avoidance and complex claims within the built environment, both domestically and internationally, for over a decade. This often means working to enable the parties to resolve their differences between themselves, which is particularly important if the parties are in long-term construction and/or services contracts. Some practical solutions include structured mediation, non-binding joint recommendations or joint workshops to discuss and unpick complex issues.Of course, it\'s not always possible, or indeed advisable, to avoid formal disputes. In these instances, I utilise my knowledge of the construction, infrastructure and energy sectors to provide a disputes strategy which balances costs with risks and aims to avoid protracted proceedings. In all instances, I\'m committed to providing clear and transparent costs and prospects advice to allow my clients to plan and fully evaluate the commercial benefits of their investment.
