ABOUT JONATHAN HUISH FINSTLM
An internationally experienced leader, advisor and coach for over two decades, Jonathan is qualified in the fields of Economics, Finance, Strategy, Psychology and Leadership, having held leadership roles at board and senior management levels across public, private and third sectors, at local and national levels, and indeed across the world. The co-founder of Avanti, he has until recently been the the Chair of Trivallis (Housing), and has acted as Chair, Director (Exec & Non-Exec), strategic advisor and consultant to a wide range of bodies, including roles as National Lead for the IDeA & LGA; Political Director for the Leadership Centre for Government; Lead for Transformation at CIPFA; Strategic Advisor to Belfast Council; acted in a strategic advisory capacity at NI Assembly, Singapore, Ghana, South Africa and others. He currently coaches a number of Leaders, Chief Executives, Chairs and Ministers. Whilst he began his career in London in the Banking sector, he followed this with a succession of senior roles in Wales. These included strategic advisor to the WDA and WTB; Leadership roles at RCT Council; Chair of the South East Wales Regional Economic Forum; Chair of the first RCT Objective 1 Partnership; Board Member on the first RCT LHB (chairing the parterships board); Board Member on South Wales Police Authority (chairing the finance committee); and Governor of Cardiff and Swansea Universities. Jonathan also represented Wales on the Committee of the Regions of Europe for 6 years, where he was the Co-ordinator of the Economic & Social Committee. Together with his role as Chair of Trivallis, Jonathan was recently appointed as a board member of Community Housing Cymru; was elected as the Chair of the Chairs and Vice Chairs’ Strategic Group of Housing Associations in Wales; and is a member of the newly established Housing Thought Leadership Group. He also Chairs Artis, the largest of the ACW funded participative arts organisations, based in the South Wales Valleys.
