Jonathan Holth is the Commissioner of Recovery and Reentry for the State of North Dakota.As the co-owner of The Toasted Frog restaurants in two cities in ND, Jonathan has been developing relationships through business and fried pickles for years. During that time, he also has become a thoughtful, outspoken community and downtown advocate that loves getting involved in any issue that is facing the communities that he loves. Jonathan is known to request face-to-face coffee meetings much more than the average person, as he would much rather look you in the eye through his white frames than try to judge tone through a series of emails. In 2020, he escalated his love of coffee meetings by purchasing one of ND’s oldest coffee shops - The Urban Stampede in downtown Grand Forks. Jonathan translated his problem-solving abilities and love for community into a consulting practice focused on Main Street issues, community engagement, community planning, and organizational sustainability and growth in both the private business and nonprofit sectors. Additionally, he is a sought after speaker in the area of addiction recovery. Holth has been in long-term recovery since May 17, 2008, and proudly wears his recovery on his sleeve. In 2024, Jonathan founded The 1883 Collective, a collective that creates name, image, and likeness opportunities for student athletes at the University of North Dakota, the state’s flagship university. He serves as Chief Executive Officer of the collective. He has been named a “40 under 40” recipient by both Business Watch Magazine and Prairie Business Magazine, a “4 under 40” recipient by the Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals, and the 2011 Small Business Person of the Year by the Chamber of Grand Forks & East Grand Forks. He continues to stay heavily involved in volunteer efforts and serves on a number of Boards of Directors in the region.
