As McDermott’s Coating SME/TA (Subject Matter Expert/Technical Authority) I am the focal point for all line pipe, field joint and subsea structure coating related inquiries globally. I am presently seconded to the Inpex Ichthys URF Project and responsible for the final quality of all field joint, factory applied line pipe coatings and bend coatings. These coatings include multi-layer polypropylene, 3-layer polypropylene, flame spray polypropylene and Injection Molded Polypropylene (IMPP).I am also the package manager / technical authority for the subsea equipment coating package. This role includes selecting a coating system that will provide ensure compliance to a 40-year design life, technical bid reviews, selection of insulation and anti-corrosion material and the day to day management of the application and quality compliance.Additionally, I assist other McDermott offices globally with technical clarifications, coating selection, contract reviews and ongoing technical support.
