ABOUT JONATHAN H.

As a Chartered Town Planner, I have developed a robust portfolio of experience since entering the professional planning industry in August 2022. My role as a Private Consultant Planner has allowed me to consult on high-impact projects in Wales, Scotland as well as numerous residential projects across England, particularly in the North East. This diverse experience has equipped me with expertise in applying policies from various Local Development Plans and National Planning Frameworks across the devolved nations. Additionally, I have been seconded to Newcastle City Council on several occasions, honing my skills in overseeing developments and generating detailed Officer Reports for a range of applications, including full planning permission and pre-application enquiries. On several occasions, I conducted site visits to ensure developments complied with the relevant planning permissions, especially for residential developments and household extensions under permitted development rights.Parallel to my professional career, I am pursuing a fully funded PhD in urban planning at Manchester Metropolitan University, with a research focus on High Street Sustainability. This academic endeavour has refined my ability to juggle multiple responsibilities, balancing part-time work at Pegasus Group with my academic commitments. My academic background includes a BSc in Environmental Science from Northumbria University and an MSc in Urban Planning from Newcastle University, providing a strong theoretical foundation and a deep passion for urban management.
