ABOUT JONATHAN GREGGS
I am driven by improving the health and wellbeing of people around the world and am proud to be playing my part in delivering access to innovative medicines with my time at Gilead, ViiV Healthcare and GSK. In parallel to my global commitments, I continue to act locally, co-founding a new business to support the wellbeing of children and adolescents.I started my career in pharma in 1997 and have had the opportunity to hold a variety of roles – across Finance, Market Access, and Marketing. Initially in the UK before working above country in European and Global roles. Finance provided me with an excellent grounding in how to run a business, understanding the importance of managing a cost base whilst ensuring appropriate investment to drive the top line sales growth. However, my roles in Market Access are the ones that have shaped my passion in ensuring people around the world have access to medicines, that would improve their health and wellbeing. These roles helped me understand the challenge of striking a balance between innovation and driving sales growth with an ambition to enable greater access to medicines. Pharma companies are key players in the efforts to achieve this, but they cannot do it alone. I am proud to contribute to Gilead, GSK and ViiV Healthcare’s efforts, companies that create sustainable and mutually beneficial partnerships with local governments and other organisations like the Medicines Patent Pool, to make the difference. A clear purpose is hugely important to me as is building strong and high performing teams. I take a lot of personal satisfaction from bringing talented individuals together and in creating the right environment and support for them to develop as individuals and as a team, something I have had the pleasure to do both within my Market Access and Commercial roles.
