   Jonathan Gonzalez is an associate with Gordon & Rees. His practice focuses on litigation, including General Business Litigation and Commercial Litigation, Insurance Defense and Coverage Disputes, Community Association Law, and Estate and Trust Litigation.Mr. Gonzalez has a background as a trial litigator in Virginia’s state and federal courts. Mr. Gonzalez has represented both large and small businesses as well as individuals in insurance defense matters through all stages of litigation and appeal. In his current practice, Mr. Gonzalez provides experienced defense counsel to his clients in auto defense, trucking and transportation defense, and defense in premises liability matters.Mr. Gonzalez also represents businesses in an array of contract disputes, as well as disputes involving claims for fraud, defamation, conspiracy, and tortious interference. He has also defended businesses against consumer protection claims, breach of warranty claims, and high-value products liability claims.In his estate litigation practice, Mr. Gonzalez files and defends challenges to wills and trusts, which often includes the interpretation of estate planning documents including wills and trusts. He also litigates cases in which a decedent may not have had a formal estate plan or the status of an estate plan is in question. Mr. Gonzalez also brings and defends against claims involving the breach of an executor’s or a trustee’s fiduciary duties.Mr. Gonzalez’s commercial and residential real estate litigation practice includes assisting businesses, landlords, and community associations in dispute resolution and litigation, including helping commercial and residential landlords obtain and collect on judgments, evict tenants, and interpret contract language. Mr. Gonzalez also advises community associations on operation, covenants, and pre-litigation matters. He also litigates covenant enforcement and collections matters on behalf of community associations.
