ABOUT JONATHAN GOETZMAN
JONATHAN GOETZMAN is a multi-hyphenate hailing from Los Angeles, California. He directs, writes, and produces films that explore generational trauma, family bonds, and preserving memory through grief. Being raised in an Israeli (Moroccan/Tunisian) and American household, Jonathan has always put his unique perspective on the world into his short films, music videos, and commercial experience. His last short film, THE LIGHTNING MAN, won many awards across the globe and was a film that captured the spirit of the Jewish identity and the multi-generational trauma that comes with it. Jonathan has worked as an assistant on many feature films for Directors such as Joel Coen, Paul Thomas Anderson, Steven Spielberg, David O’Russel, Olivia Wilde, and the Russo Brothers. When he’s not working on film, he pursues his love for theater and specifically for his theater debut, SUNBREAK which played a 6 week run in Los Angeles and will be heading to New York in February to play at the NY Theatre Festival. Jonathan is simultaneously working in pre-production on REPEAT THE TRACK, which he is directing as his first feature-length film. “The catharsis you feel from healing through art is the most beautiful emotion in the world and shows you the sheer strength and power of love. That warm, infectious feeling is able to spread far and wide to further connect us all as human beings. We have the opportunity to open people’s hearts through our work and that is the most important aspect of what we do as artists.”
