Over 25 years of oilfield experience with an extensive knowledge of drilling fluids, drilling waste management and the environmental impact of drilling fluids who has worked in research and development as well as technical and operational roles. Key areas of expertise include water and oil base drilling fluids, the environmental impact and testing of drilling fluids, environmental issues relating to drilling and drilling waste management. This includes solids control, waste minimization and total containment, the bioremediation of hydrocarbons, waste injection and thermal processing of drill cuttings. Has a BSc in Applied Biology and a PhD in Microbiology of Marine Sediments and has authored numerous papers on drilling fluids and drilling waste management. Holds U.S. and foreign patents and has represented Chevron on both European and International work groups.
