Who is Points of Light?Points of Light is Oakland\'s largest youth ministry. We reach approximately 500 at-risk youth and children in Oakland weekly through 7 faith-based programs designed to teach them about Jesus, instill leadership, self-confidence, and Christian values, and provide hope through understanding Jesus\'s love.Why does Points of Light exist?There are over 500 churches in Oakland, but sadly, not one hava a full-time youth leader to provide guidance and mentoring. It’s no wonder that our news channels are filled with stories of inner-city youth engaging in criminal activity! Points of Light exists to help fill that gap.
